GRG (Glass-Reinforced Gypsum)

History

A new concept material was brought from England in 1977, a product now known as Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG). This includes gypsum plaster reinforced with glass fibres to produce thin, light weight yet strong material.

Applications

GRG is for use where it is not subject to dampness. (Don’t use directly exposed to rain, fountains or wet locations). GRG can be used where light weight strong and fire resistant material is required (Casinos, hotels, theaters, residential etc.).

Why GRG?

  • Flame Resistant:

GRG is a mineral and will not burn. The nature of gypsum acts like thermal regulator when exposed to flame. It also protects material behind it from heat of flame for up to couple of hours.

  • Easy Installation:

GRG is relatively light weight compared to traditional stone or plaster components. Its installation is relatively quick and easy.

  • Selection:

GRG can be cast to virtually any shape.

  • Finish:

GRG is available in white column and easily finished with virtually any paint.
